Baseball Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

Columbus came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Pewaukee Pirates, falling 14-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 10-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Pewaukee, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Coincidentally, Columbus and Pewaukee will both be playing Merrill the next time they take the field. The Cardinals will host the Bluejays at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Pirates will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
