Baseball Game Preview: Hughson Huskies vs. Hilmar Yellowjackets

For the second straight game, Hughson will face off against Hilmar. The Huskies will host the Yellowjackets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hughson 2.7, Hilmar 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Hughson is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Hilmar just ended the team's 13-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 7-6.

Beau Blake made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Bryce McDaniel, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Hughson's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 19-3. As for Hilmar, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2.
