Basketball Recap: San Jose Prep Comes Up Short

San Jose Prep lost against Andrew Jackson back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The San Jose Prep Storm were dealt a 69-27 defeat at the hands of the Andrew Jackson Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 485th, while the Tigers are ranked ninth).

Jahari Simmons continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Andrew Jackson, going 15 of 29 en route to 26 points along with five boards and four steals. Simmons has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Corenzas Dennard, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

San Jose Prep's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Andrew Jackson, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

San Jose Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-55 victory against Wolfson on the 10th. Andrew Jackson has also already played their next match, a 66-61 win against Rickards on the 10th.
