Softball Recap: Lakeland Christian's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lakeland Christian walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Seffner Christian Crusaders a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by nine runs or more this season.

Paityn Donalson and Rylan Rollyson did most of the damage at the plate: Donalson went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Rollyson went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases Rollyson has posted since back in March. Mikayla Hampton was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

The win was the fourth in a row for Lakeland Christian, bringing their record up to 13-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Seffner Christian, they moved to 12-7 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Lakeland Christian nor the Crusaders have any future games scheduled.
