Volleyball Recap: The First Academy Extends Winning Streak to Four

The First Academy had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Altamonte Christian on Tuesday. The Royals put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Royals sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: The First Academy took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12, 25-15.

Among those leading the charge was Taylor Loveless, who had eight digs and four aces. Those four aces gave her a new career-high. Maren Moye also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: The First Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They served three more aces than Altamonte Christian's also-impressive total of 13.

Altamonte Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ella Fritz, who had 11 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Hady Payton, who had six digs, two aces, and one block.

The First Academy's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Altamonte Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

The First Academy has already played their next match (against Crooms Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Altamonte Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Conrad Academy on the 2nd.
