Baseball Recap: Central Valley Comes Up Short

Central Valley extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-10. They lost 11-3 to the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bullpups this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 on Tuesday.

As for Gonzaga Prep, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-2-1. The result was nothing new for the Bullpups, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Gonzaga Prep's part, Cole Comfort was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Comfort a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Karis, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run and two runs.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Central Valley is set to face off against their familiar foe Shadle Park at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Gonzaga Prep will take on rival Lewis & Clark at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
