Soccer Recap: Clearfield Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Clearfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell 5-3 to the Layton Lancers on Thursday. The Falcons have struggled against the Lancers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Clearfield hit Layton with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Carden Porter, Kyson Weaver, and Brock Schreiner.

The victory got Layton back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Clearfield will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Viewmont at 3:30 p.m. This will be Viewmont's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Layton, they will head out on the road to square off against Northridge at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
