Basketball Recap: Nuniwarmiut Falls to Chaputnguak in First Game of Season

Nuniwarmiut had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Chaputnguak Shaman 59-14. The Herders haven't had much luck with the Shaman recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

MacKenzie Larsen was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 19 points. Maisha Erik was another key player, putting up 12 points.

The victory got Chaputnguak back to even at 1-1.

Nuniwarmiut does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chaputnguak, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 36-34 win against Akiuk Memorial on the 25th.
