Buford came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.2 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cheraw Braves a 1-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in March.

Buford pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those seven matches. As for Cheraw, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4.

Coincidentally, Buford and Cheraw will both be playing Andrew Jackson the next time they take the pitch. The Braves will host the Volunteers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Yellow Jackets will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
