Myrtle Beach faced Cardinal Newman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Seahawks had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 2-1.

Myrtle Beach's win bumped their record up to 6-0-1. As for Cardinal Newman, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 15 games and leaves them with a 19-2 record.

Myrtle Beach wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Atlantic Collegiate Academy on the 13th. As for Cardinal Newman, they will take on Heathwood Hall Episcopal at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
