Baseball Recap: Summit Victorious

Summit posted their closest victory since April 12th on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagle Valley Devils 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Devils: they've now won nine in a row.

Jojo Gambino was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Hogan Tobias was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Summit's record now sits at 12-5. As for Eagle Valley, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Summit beat the Devils by a score of 16-3 later that day.
