Softball Recap: Hauser Beats Rushville for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Hauser had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Rushville Lions. That's more bragging rights for the Jets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Haven Hartwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Haylin Campbell was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Isabelle Brunner was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Hauser was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Hauser's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Rushville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hauser will face off against Greensburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Jets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rushville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hagerstown at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
