Soccer Game Preview: Ponca City vs. Union

The Ponca City Wildcats will head out to take on the Union Redhawks at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

On Tuesday, Ponca City had just enough and edged out Sapulpa 2-1. Ponca City haven't had any issues with Sapulpa recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Union had already won nine in a row and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They never let the Pioneers get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's two games straight that Union have won by just one goal.

Union pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four games. As for Ponca City, their record is now 8-6.

Ponca City suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Union when the teams last played back in March of 2015. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
