Volleyball Recap: Tarkington Starts Season with Loss at Home

Tarkington unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Lumberton Raiders on Tuesday. If the Longhorns were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Raiders when the teams met back in August of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tarkington was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22, 25-20.

Despite the defeat, Tarkington saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Paisley Hearn had 20 digs and one assist.

Tarkington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Pearland on the 14th. As for Lumberton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Buna on the 14th.
