Basketball Recap: Crissy Medina's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Beaver Dam over Fredonia

After flying high against Liberty Baptist Academy last Thursday, Beaver Dam came back down to earth. The Beaver Dam Diamondback came up short against the Fredonia Lynx on Friday, falling 53-33. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Diamondback this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-17 back in December of 2024.

Beaver Dam lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Crissy Medina, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Oaklie Ortega, who scored six points.

Among those leading the charge was Lainie Heaton, who had 16 points and six steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Neveya Estrada, who posted 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Beaver Dam's record now sits at 6-9. As for Fredonia, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Beaver Dam wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-17 victory against Mountain View Christian on the 13th. As for Fredonia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-38 win against St. Michael on the 11th.
