Mt. Markham and Sauquoit Valley are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Markham will be strutting in after a win while Sauquoit Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Monday, Mt. Markham beat Canastota 7-2.

Meanwhile, Sauquoit Valley came up short against Morrisville-Eaton on Monday and fell 8-4. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sauquoit Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Cardillo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Lulu Cuthbertson, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Sauquoit Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mt. Markham, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Everything went Mt. Markham's way against Sauquoit Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Mt. Markham made off with a 15-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
