Basketball Recap: Clarkson/Leigh Takes a Loss

Clarkson/Leigh extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-5. They were outmatched by the West Point-Beemer Cadets and fell 78-33. The contest marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Clarkson/Leigh lost, don't look at Luke Eisenmann. Despite the final result, he posted six points. Cody Jedlicka also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

As for West Point-Beemer, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Hunter Swanson had another great game (as he tends to do), going 8-for-9 to rack up 22 points and three steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.8 points per game. Another player making a difference was Blaize Brockmann, who scored nine points.

Clarkson/Leigh and Howells-Dodge will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for West Point-Beemer, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wayne at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Cadets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
