Furr had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They managed a 20-16 win over the Brazosport Exporters on Thursday.
A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between Nicholas Harris Jr and his top target Avery Lazard. Harris Jr rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown while Lazard picked up 121 receiving yards. Lazard was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 51 yards.
