Preview: Bethune-Bowman vs. Whitmire

Keep an eye on the score for this one: both Whitmire and Bethune-Bowman put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they play one another this week. Bethune-Bowman took its contest against Johnson last week by a conclusive 44 - 20 score. As for Whitmire, it strolled past Branchville last week with points to spare, taking it 36 - 16.

In its game, Bethune-Bowman got an early lead and never looked back, outscoring Johnson in every quarter en route to its victory. No one had a larger role in the success than senior Makiah Simmons, who brought his A game into the contest. He ran for 203 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. The win bumped Bethune-Bowman's record up to 4-1.

Meanwhile, after a disappointing six points in the game before, Whitmire made sure to put some points up on the board against Branchville last week. Junior Jaylen Brown was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he picked up 82 yards on the ground). The victory got Whitmire up to 2-3.

While both teams are coming off of wins, only one will triumph this week. We'll find out soon enough who that will be.
