Softball Recap: Summit Storm vs. Bend Lava Bears
Summit extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-11-1 in the process. They lost 10-4 to the Bend Lava Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lava Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-2 last Tuesday.
As for Bend, they now have a winning record of 10-9-1. The result was nothing new for the Lava Bears, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
For Bend's part, Emily Lauerman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Lauerman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Glasser, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Looking ahead, Summit will square off against Caldera at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit's pitchers better be ready for this one: Caldera has averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Bend, they will take on Mountain View at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lava Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
