            Volleyball Recap: Santa Fe Raiders vs. Fleming Island Golden Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            If Santa Fe was riding high  fresh off their  3-0 takedown of Williston on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders fell just short of the Fleming Island Golden Eagles by a score of  3-2 on Thursday. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Eagles earlier this season, when they won  3-1.
 Santa Fe was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Fleming Island work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-20, 19-25, 26-24, 21-25,  15-8.
Santa Fe's offense was headlined by  Brooke Findley and  Delaney Wingenbach, who picked up 18 kills apiece. They got some help from  Gracyn Marshall and her 24 assists. Finally,  Ella Schneider kept Santa Fe's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.
Santa Fe has  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-9 record  this season. As for Fleming Island, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record  this season.
 Santa Fe will look to defend their home court  on Tuesday against The Rock  at 7:00  p.m. As for Fleming Island, they have already played their next contest,  a  2-0  victory against St. Augustine on the 3rd.
