Softball Recap: Vintage Crushers vs. San Marin Mustangs
Vintage and San Marin squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Vintage had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Crushers have lost by just one run.
Angie Rubalcava spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.
At the plate, Vintage saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Morton, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
This is the second loss in a row for Vintage and nudges their season record down to 18-8. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for San Marin, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-6.
As of now, neither Vintage nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
