Basketball Game Preview: Fossil Ridge SaberCats vs. Poudre Impalas

Fossil Ridge has gone 8-2 against Poudre recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Fossil Ridge SaberCats will head out to square off against the Poudre Impalas at 6:00 p.m. Fossil Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Fossil Ridge took their match with ease, bagging a 66-30 victory over Greeley West. The SaberCats haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Fossil Ridge found their leader in freshman Addilyn Sandstedt, who went 8-for-17 to rack up 23 points and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for Sandstedt. The team also got some help courtesy of Elli Johnson, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and six steals.

Meanwhile, Poudre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 54-37 bruising from Rocky Mountain. That's two games in a row now that the Impalas have lost by exactly 17 points.

Poudre's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Fossil Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.

Fossil Ridge strolled past Poudre when the teams last played back in January by a score of 47-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fossil Ridge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
