Ballard has gone a perfect 3-0 against Lexington Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Ballard will look to defend their home field against Lexington Catholic at 6:00 p.m. Ballard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Ballard didn't have quite enough to beat Lafayette and fell 5-4.

Emery Schuster put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Schuster was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Schuster wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aubrie Newton, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Lexington Catholic fell victim to Harrison County and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thorobreds/Fillies. The Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Abby Hammond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Ballard's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4. As for Lexington Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Lexington Catholic's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ballard hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .374. It's a different story for Lexington Catholic, though, as they've only averaged .218. Will they be able to contain Ballard's hitters?

Ballard skirted past Lexington Catholic 3-2 when the teams last played back in June of 2022. Will Ballard repeat their success, or does Lexington Catholic has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
