Basketball Recap: Oceanside Comes Up Short

Oceanside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 62-52 to the Hampden Broncos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Broncos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-48 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Oceanside lost, don't look at Zeb Foster. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 20 on his way to 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Foster's morning made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Kay, who went 5 for 11 en route to 16 points.

Oceanside's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Hampden, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Oceanside will face off against Spruce Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on February 14th. Oceanside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season. As for Hampden, they will take on Gardiner at 5:30 p.m. on February 15th.
