Kyle Desrosiers and Timothy Robitaille made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Desrosiers struck out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Robitaille struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. At the plate, Desrosiers went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Robitaille got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base was Robitaille's first of the season.
In other batting news, Max Correiro was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Tyler Dicecco was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Bishop Hendricken.
Jon-Luca Feole spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.
Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for East Providence, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
East Providence's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. The Townies have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lincoln, though, as they've been averaging only 0.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will East Providence continue to outrun the ball?
East Providence skirted past Lincoln 1-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2018. Do the Townies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
