Softball Recap: Smoky Valley Comes Up Short

Smoky Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Pratt Greenbacks, falling 18-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 7-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Rylie Tolle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Kate Griffin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Smoky Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Pratt, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pratt beat Smoky Valley by a score of 12-1 later that day.
