Basketball Game Preview: Garfield Bulldogs vs. Legacy Tigers

Garfield and Legacy are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Garfield Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Legacy Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Legacy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Garfield, who comes in off a win.

Garfield got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They walked away with a 49-39 win over South Gate on Wednesday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while the Rams are ranked 1204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Legacy came up short against Roosevelt on Wednesday and fell 64-55. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Rough Riders: they've now lost three in a row.

Legacy's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Garfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.

Garfield beat Legacy 42-31 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Does Garfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Legacy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
