Basketball Recap: Hylton Takes a Loss

Hylton lost against Freedom back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hylton Bulldogs were outmatched by the Freedom Eagles and fell 51-9. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Eagles are ranked 92nd).

Keilani Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Freedom, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten steals. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Keilana Johnson, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Hylton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Freedom, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Coming up, Hylton will head out to take on Woodbridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freedom, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Potomac Senior at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Potomac Senior comes in on seven and Freedom on ten.
