Softball Game Preview: Clarkstown North Rams vs. Carmel Rams

Clarkstown North will square off against Carmel at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Clarkstown North's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Port Chester with a sharp 18-0 victory. Clarkstown North might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by nine runs or more this season.

Donatella Clemente looked comfortable as she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Siena DeCicco was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlee Levin, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Clarkstown North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Port Chester only posted an OBP of .440.

Meanwhile, Carmel had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Mahopac last Wednesday as they made off with a 23-9 win.

Clarkstown North now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Carmel, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Clarkstown North took their win against Carmel in their previous meeting back in March of 2019 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Does Clarkstown North have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carmel turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
