Elk Grove got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Palatine Pirates. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Elk Grove were the better team in the second half.

Olivier Bielecki and Arthur Mikina scored all three of Elk Grove's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Elk Grove now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Palatine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6-1.
