Basketball Recap: Escondido Takes a Loss

Escondido lost against Rancho Bernardo back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Escondido Cougars were outmatched by the Rancho Bernardo Broncos and fell 80-33. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Rancho Bernardo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Woodland, who posted 14 points. Cyrus Sadri-Ahwazi was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Escondido dropped their record down to 14-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Rancho Bernardo, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Escondido Cougars duke it out with the Valley Center Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rancho Bernardo, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Del Lago Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Del Lago Academy sitting on three straight victories and Rancho Bernardo on seven.
