Soccer Game Preview: Robinson vs. West Springfield

The Robinson Rams will take on the West Springfield Spartans at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Robinson is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Lake Braddock just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result kept Robinson happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 1st.

Meanwhile, West Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 5-0 to West Potomac. That's two games in a row now that West Springfield have lost by exactly five goals.

Robinson's draw makes their record 6-3-2 this season. As for West Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Robinson was able to grind out a solid win over West Springfield in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
