Baseball Recap: Legacy's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Legacy extended their winning streak to five on Monday, bumping their season record up to 16-7 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Legend Titans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lightning have posted since April 23rd.

Legacy's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jason Olsen, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Another was KC Reiser, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

As for Legend, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On Legend's side, they got a good showing from Colten Smith, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That one hit allowed gave Smith a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Carson Reffel was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Zayne Berard also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Legacy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Legend, they will host Vista Ridge at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
