The 10th Annual MaxPreps Football Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard visited Jenks High School in Oklahoma to honor their state championship football team. Upon entering the school, it was evident the school had a rich tradition in championship teams. The Jenks football team beat Union 21-14 for their 15th Oklahoma 6A-1 state title and its third in a row. Out of 16,000 football programs across the country, Jenks was ranked No. 26 nationally. This is also the second year in a row that Jenks has been honored on the Football Tour of Champions.

The presentation was set to take place during the "National Signing Day" Assembly for the Football and Soccer teams. Therefore, many parents were attending and excited for those athletes moving onto the next level. As the students began to pile into the high school gym, the energy and excitement begin to pick up.

Jeremy Tims of MaxPreps kicked off the presentation by explaining to the crowd what MaxPreps is and how a school's ranking is determined. At the conclusion of his speech, Jeremy introduced Major Shane Riley of the Oklahoma National Guard, prefacing that he served "the greatest country in the world." Then, the students and parents began clapping in respect and love for their country. Major Riley talked briefly about the teamwork and commitment that it takes to win a state championship. He then drew the comparison that many of the same attributes that it takes to be a part of a championship team are similar to those necessary in the Army National Guard. When Major Riley finished his speech, he presented Head Coach Allan Trimble with the Army National Guard national ranking trophy. Coach Trimble came to the microphone and thanked everyone for their commitment to their school. Following the assembly, local media interviewed the coach and players. The entire team also took with their newest addition to their trophy case, the "Minuteman"!

Congratulations Jenks on your 15th state title and national ranking!
