Volleyball Recap: KIPP San Jose Collegiate Takes a Loss + How To Watch

KIPP San Jose Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to The Nueva School Mavericks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolfpack of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While KIPP San Jose Collegiate was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into The Nueva School's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-15, 25-19.

The Nueva School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julia Cai, who had four aces. That's the most aces Cai has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Langely Vassallo, who had five kills and three aces.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for The Nueva School, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.
