Basketball Recap: St. Thomas More Academy Comes Up Short

St. Thomas More Academy was the 50-42 winner over American Leadership Academy-Johnston when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors fell to the American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots 53-49. The Chancellors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, St. Thomas More Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore JohnPaul Mack posted 22 points. The contest was Mack's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Mack, who earned ten points.

St. Thomas More Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season.

St. Thomas More Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-50 loss against Thales Academy Apex on the 17th. American Leadership Academy-Johnston has also already played their next contest, a 60-15 victory against Raleigh Christian Academy on the 17th.
