Basketball Game Preview: St. Rita Mustangs vs. Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack

The St. Rita Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Rita has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight defeats, while Saint Ignatius College Prep will come in with four straight victories.

Last Wednesday, St. Rita was beaten by St. Francis 53-25.

Meanwhile, Saint Ignatius College Prep didn't have too much trouble with Providence Catholic on Monday as they won 75-58. Given the Wolfpack's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Celtics are ranked 372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Rita's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Saint Ignatius College Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

St. Rita was taken down by Saint Ignatius College Prep 64-25 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can St. Rita avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
