Baseball Recap: Junipero Serra Padres vs. Menlo School Knights
Junipero Serra had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Menlo School Knights. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Padres also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2015.
Kelley Crawford looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Tyler Harrison was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Jack Wessell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Junipero Serra has already played their next match, a 6-0 win against Sacred Heart Prep on the 27th. As for Menlo School, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-2 loss against Los Gatos on the 27th.
