Recap: Moses Brown Quakers vs. East Providence Townies

On Saturday, the Moses Brown Quakers faced the East Providence Townies in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Moses Brown fell 42-35 to East Providence. The match was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but Moses Brown was outscored by East Providence in the second.

East Providence was led to victory by Steven Clark Jr and Jacob Duarte. Clark Jr rushed for 183 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.4 yards per carry, while Duarte rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Duarte was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Moses Brown and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for East Providence, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moses Brown will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on St. Raphael Academy at 6:00 p.m. on November 22nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (St. Raphael Academy is ranked sixth, while Moses Brown is ranked 19th). East Providence will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on La Salle Academy at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd.
