Basketball Game Preview: Lenoir City Panthers vs. White County Warriors

The Lenoir City Panthers will head out to take on the White County Warriors on Saturday.

Last Wednesday, Lenoir City was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-51 to Heritage. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Mountaineers are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, White County came tearing into Wednesday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.2 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 64-58 W against the Wildcats.

White County's win came from a few key players Lenoir City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Keely Mullins, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 50% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Ava Jones, who posted 16 points and five rebounds.

White County's win bumped their record up to 31-3. As for Lenoir City, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-13.
