Basketball Game Preview: Riverheads Gladiators vs. Wilson Memorial Green Hornets

Riverheads is 0-10 against Wilson Memorial since February of 2020 but things could change on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Riverheads Gladiators will head out on the road to face off against the Wilson Memorial Green Hornets at 7:45 p.m.

On Friday, Riverheads ended up a good deal behind Staunton and lost 45-26. The match marked the Gladiators' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wilson Memorial, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Fort Defiance, posting a 79-27 victory. The Green Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

Wilson Memorial's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games. As for Riverheads, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Riverheads suffered a grim 68-45 defeat to Wilson Memorial when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can Riverheads avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
