Volleyball Recap: Hiwassee Dam Comes Up Short

Hiwassee Dam came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Copper Basin Cougars, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in August.

Hiwassee Dam was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Copper Basin work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-23, 25-20.

Hiwassee Dam's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Copper Basin, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hiwassee Dam will square off against Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Copper Basin, they will take on Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
