Preview: Bellmont Braves vs. Garrett Railroaders
The Bellmont Braves will be playing at home against the Garrett Railroaders at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bellmont will be strutting in after a win while Garrett will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Saturday, everything went Bellmont's way against Heritage as Bellmont made off with a 63-38 victory. Given Bellmont's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Heritage is ranked 369th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Garrett ended up a good deal behind Angola on Friday and lost 55-36. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Garrett has scored all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Bellmont and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Garrett, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-3.
Bellmont beat Garrett 50-40 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Garrett's Kyle Smith, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
