Soccer Game Preview: East Carteret vs. Southside + How To Watch

East Carteret hasn't had much luck against Southside recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mariners will host the Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

East Carteret will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Jones, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Mariners came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 3-1 on Monday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but East Carteret were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Southside made sure to put some goals up on the board against Jones on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-2 win over the Trojans.

Southside hit Jones with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Marcos Gonzalez, Henry Padilla, Marvin Villeda Gonzalez, and Eder Hernandez Tello.

East Carteret's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three contests. As for Southside, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9-1.

East Carteret beat Southside by a goal when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-2. Will the Mariners repeat their success, or do the Seahawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
