Volleyball Recap: Lakeside Comes Up Short

Lakeside was the 2-1 winner over South Effingham when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Shelby Smith paced Lakeside's offense, picking up nine kills. Smith got some help from Avery Miller and her 13 assists.

Lakeside's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 38-6. As for South Effingham, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 36-10 record this season.

Lakeside has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Brunswick on the 11th. As for South Effingham, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Effingham County on the 11th.
