Volleyball Game Preview: El Capitan Gauchos vs. Christian Brothers Falcons

The El Capitan Gauchos will square off against the Christian Brothers Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. El Capitan will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

El Capitan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Oakmont by a score of 3-1.

El Capitan had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-21, 25-22, 27-25.

Christian Brothers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Rio Linda with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on five straight.

While Christian Brothers won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-22, 25-16.

El Capitan's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 31-11. As for Christian Brothers, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.

El Capitan came up short against Christian Brothers when the teams last played back in March, falling 2-0. Can the Gauchos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
