Softball Recap: Newark Takes a Loss

Newark's last matchup with Serena could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Norsemen came up short against the Huskers, falling 17-7. The Norsemen haven't had much luck with the Huskers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Adelaide Johnson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Zoey Carlson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Newark's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Serena, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newark will challenge Earlville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Serena, they will square off against St. Francis at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
