Volleyball Game Preview: Heyworth Hornets vs. Prairie Central Hawks + How To Watch

The Heyworth Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Prairie Central Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Heyworth will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Heyworth won the last time they faced Fieldcrest and Lyla Tate did her part to make sure it happened again. The Hornets walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Knights on Thursday thanks in part to Tate, who had 19 kills and 13 digs. She has been hot, having posted nine or more kills the last seven times she's played.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 26-24.

Heyworth can attribute much of their success to Karissa Cook, who had 18 digs and one assist, and Sidney Ditchen, who had 15 assists and seven digs. That's the most digs Cook has posted over her last 15 matchups. Kylie Hanslow was another key player, getting 12 assists and five digs.

Meanwhile, Prairie Central came up short against Bloomington Central Catholic on Thursday and fell 2-0.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-14.

Heyworth's record is now 17-3. As for Prairie Central, they dropped their record down to 11-9 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
