Baseball Recap: Christian Academy-Louisville Comes Up Short

After flying high against North Bullitt on Thursday, Christian Academy-Louisville came back down to earth. The Centurions lost 13-7 to the Spencer County Bears on Saturday. The Centurions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2021.

Christian Academy-Louisville got a good showing from Nathan Durston, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Durston has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cameron Combs made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Jackson Burke, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Christian Academy-Louisville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-11 record this season. As for Spencer County, they pushed their record up to 22-11 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christian Academy-Louisville will host Atherton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Spencer County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastern at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
